Complete Rough Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC

Part 3

By Todd Delahunt – Delahunt Homes, Portland Oregon

In this step of the process of building you custom home there are a list of things that will be installed.

  • Pipes and wires
  • Sewer lines and vents
  • Water supply lines
  • Bath tubs and shower units
  • Ductwork for HVAC system
  • HVAC vent pipes

After the roofing goes on, the house is considered “dried in.” The electrician then installs receptacles for outlets, lights and switches and runs wires from the breaker panel to each receptacle in you custom home.

Inspections 2, 3 and 4:

The rough framing, plumbing, and electrical and mechanical systems are inspected in your custom home for compliance with building codes. More than likely these three inspections will be three different times. After the inspection stage, your custom home builder will have drywall delivered to the building site of your custom home.
